Why Linux?
When I installed Linux for the first time, my goal was a faster computer. Over time I realized the real gain wasn’t speed — it was the freedom to understand how the system actually works.
Transparency
In Linux, everything is visible. Why is a process consuming CPU? Where is a file? Where is my network traffic going? You don’t need to buy a separate tool to learn these things; the tools are already part of the system.
Control
You can choose your desktop environment, fonts, terminal emulator, everything. This isn’t a burden of choice — it’s freedom. The system you use reflects your preferences.
Power Through Simplicity
Tools like grep, awk, and sed have existed for decades and are still among the most efficient data processing methods available. Without a complex GUI, a few lines of bash can compress hours of work into minutes.
That’s a kind of Zahit philosophy too: less, but solid.
